Ear Piercing Paralyzed Teen - What Went Wrong? Remarkable Recovery!

A simple ear piercing paralyzed teen dancer Grace Etherington. The 15-year-old girl from Britain developed Guillain-Barre syndrome just days after getting a viral infection after she got her ears pierced.

Ear piercing leaves teen paralyzed - her amazing story of recovery! The doctors stunned the family by telling them that Grace may stay motionless for her entire life. They even thought she would have to rely on a ventilator to even breathe. Her mother felt this was a fate worse than death. The teen thought it was horrible as well.

Thankfully for Grace, after her ear piercing left the teen paralyzed, she was able to overcome the dire predictions from her doctors. In fact, she was able to dance again this past May. She still experiences occasional fatigue, but generally she is completely recovered from her terrible ordeal. What a wonderful story of recovery! She must have been very determined and had a lot of support from her family.

It is incredibly rare that a skin infection from ear piercing would result in Guillain-Barre syndrome. Just days after Grace got a viral ear infection she had difficulty walking. The syndrome is incurable. It is amazing that Grace recovered so well and so quickly after the ear piercing left her paralyzed. Hopefully the young girl will have many happy years dancing with her troupe in England. The video below gives more details about this unique story.
