Crystal Bowersox Tonight Show Take Over With Farmer's Daughter

Crystal Bowersox on Tonight Show With Jay Leno is making news this weekend, and the American Idol runner up performed the title track of her soon to be released album, Farmer's Daughter. Fans have been waiting for the release of this album since Crystal Bowersox was on Idol earlier this year.

Some say Crystal Bowersox should have won this season, but shecame in second right behind Lee Dewyze. She is not your typical Idol contestant with her music having more of a folk and country feeling in comparison to the more pop music you hear come out of American Idol, but she is sticking by her guns and to her style.

Bowersox isn't about conforming to the style of everyone else. The singer is very much her own person, and this album is set to show that off perfectly. Original plans had the album set for release this spring, but it was in recent weeks that she announced she was able to bring the album together much quicker than she thought, and she would have it out in December.

Now the release of the album is just days away. The debut single, Farmer's Daughter, which is also the title track is a very personal tune to Crystal. It is based on her life growing up with an alcoholic ans abusive parent. Something her mother didn't completely appreciate.

Joe Jonas, who is dating Robert Pattinson's "Twilight" co-star, Ashley Greene, may have gotten some style tips from Mr. Edward Cullen himself. Jonas' new do looks great. It's longer on the top, with the sides shaved down short. While Joe rocks the haircut, Rpattz rocked it first. Maybe they have the same stylist?

Michael Douglas Back to Acting for First Time Since Cancer Diagnosis

Actor Michael Douglas is back to acting...albeit a small part this time, for the first time since being diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. Douglas filmed a clip for an online video feature produced by the New York Times.

According to MSN, Michael Douglas may look a bit frail but his acting skills are strong in light of the difficult rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments he endured in an effort to beat his cancer. His treatments ended in October and this is Douglas' first foray back into the acting world. It was a one-minute clip that other actors, including Matt Damon and James Franco have filmed as well.

Michael Douglas has been battling an illness that many people don't beat. He has looked adversity in the eye and fought it full throttle since his diagnosis. The intense forms of chemo and radiation he has undergone have made him both sick and uncomfortable and the burning feeling in his throat from the radiation has got to have been awful. To step back out and film even a one-minute segment took guts and probably more physical strength than he has to expend. However that is what a fighter does, and it's clear to everyone watching that Michael Douglas is a fighter.

Even Michael Douglas' rep knows he's a fighter. He released the following statement to the press regarding Douglas' present condition.

"He's doing better. He keeps improving, but it's a slow process.

Michael Douglas has firm plans in place to return full time to acting in 2011, when he'll start filming his portrayal of Liberace.

Did Manu Ginobili See A UFO?

Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs claims he may have seen a UFO. While many people around the world have claimed to see UFO's or even alien life, it's rare that a celebrity or well known athlete would come forward with the claims.

Manu Ginobili, says that he saw the UFO while his team, The Spurs, were in LA for a basketball game with the Clippers. Ginobili tweeted about what at the time he thought was a single engine airplane, even posting a video.

Then, according to MySanAntonio.com:

"Friday morning, TMZ.com picked up on the story, posting video of the moment shot by fans waiting for autographs near the Spurs bus. In it, you can see Ginobili, a Spurs’ security officer and what appears to be a strange light in the California sky."

So, did Manu Ginobili actually see a UFO? It's hard to say, but the experience did have him questioning what exactly he did see. “It was a pretty strange flight pattern,” Ginobili said. “I thought it was falling, not landing. I thought it was like a plane crash. We were expecting to see it on the news the following day, and there was nothing. That’s when we got a little curious, ‘What the hell was that?’ ”

While UFO's have been "seen" all over the world, no real evidence has ever been made to the general public. While Manu Ginobili may have seen an alien space craft, we'll probably never know. However, there are those who believe the government knows all too well that aliens are real, and refuse to let us in on the secret!

Billy Ray Cyrus Uses Twitter To Speak Out About Miley's Bong Video

Miley Cyrus' father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is speaking out on Twitter about his daughter's controversial video, in which she smokes salvia out of a bong.

Billy Ray Cyrus took to Twitter and to basically say, he's disappointed in his daughter, Miley Cyrus, after watching her smoke Salvia from a bong, and that she's out of control.

"I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself," Billy Ray Tweeted. "I'm so sad. There is much beyond my control right now."

The video of Miley Cyrus is a bit disturbing as the Disney star is seen smoking the legal (for now) drug Salvia from a bong, and says things like she's tripping, while using curse words and acting immaturely.

Miley Cyrus grew up way too fast, and Billy Ray may be starting to finally notice it. While he once co-starred with his daughter on "Hannah Montana" she now seems like she's not getting any parental guidance, and if she is, it's not good. If Miley doesn't watch out, she'll be the next child star heading to rehab.

Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez Are Dating. What?

Are pop music phenomenon, Justin Bieber and Disney star and UNICEF Goodwill ambassador, Selena Gomez an item? They certainly seem to show up in the same places at the same time.  Or is that merely coincidence?  Or better yet, just savvy publicity?

Last Wednesday, the two teen stars were spotted "walking arm in arm" outside that famously romantic Philadelphia landmark, the International House of Pancakes after performing with Adam Lambert at the Q102 Jingle Ball.  Inside, they were rumoured to have held hands while sitting close together on the same side of the booth. (Wow. Sounds like the real thing.)  Bieber seems to have forgotten about Singer Jasmine Villegas whom he was caught kissing in a car in September.  And Gomez broke up with Nick Jonas, the youngest of the Jonas Bothers, in April.  So, they're both single.  What more is there to say? 

According to Popeater:  Nothing.  In fact, the only question left is what funny name to create for the new couple.  "Biemez" perhaps? Or maybe "Gober?"

Momentito.  Please.  Let's not start buying bags of rice just yet. Has anyone noticed that these two make a rather incongruous couple?  With all due respect, as talented and as good-natured as he obviously is, Justin Bieber looks like a pre-pubescent child.  If Gomez is anything like most women in their late teens, she'll want to date a man her age or slightly older, not a soprano-voiced kid.  And speaking of kids, Gomez is a 19 year old adult.  Bieber is a minor--just 16.  Imagine what an outpouring of outrage there would be if their gender roles were reversed.  A 19 year old man "romantically" involved with a 16 year old girl in this country is a crime.  Is the converse not still a crime?  If Bieber and Gomez are doing more than eating pancakes, they'd better watch their backs. The dreaded ParentsTelevision Council will soon be all over them like lions on a lame wildebeest.

Elizabeth Edwards Funeral: Protests, Wade & Cate Edwards, Eulogy

Elizabeth Edwards' funeral service will be held today at the Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC, amid funeral protests by the Westboro Baptist Church. Edwards Edwards, who died from breast cancer, will be interred next to her late son, Wade Edwards.  Among the invited guests to speak at the funeral services is Cate Edwards, the oldest child of the late political wife.

Elizabeth Edwards' Funeral:  Final Wish to Be Buried Next to Son

In 1996, long before she was diagnosed with breast cancer, her son Wade Ewards, 16 at the time, was involved in a vehicle crash that claimed his life.  The news of the loss of her son was enough to crush her entire world.  She left her successful practice of law to mourn the loss of her son.  In many ways, she has never reconciled the loss of her son.

One of her final wishes included being buried next to her late son.  The manager of Raleigh's Historic Oakwood Cemetery confirmed that Elizabeth Edwards, based on the family arrangements, will be buried next to her son, who is already interred there.

Elizabeth Edwards' Funeral:  Protests From Westboro Baptist Church

Pastor Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church, based on the picket schedule, will be present to protest the funeral services of the late Elizabeth Edwards.  The radical hate group that doubles as a Christian group, is known to show up at the funerals of fallen soldiers to spread its anti-gay and lesbian messages of damnation.

However, the group says it will protest the life and choices Elizabeth Edwards made before she died, and how she repeatedly turned away from God in disobedience. Phelps says his group will picket at a "respectable distance".

Elizabeth Edwards Funeral:  Cate Edwards' Eulogy for Her Mom

Cate Edwards, 28, a law clerk in Washington D.C. is the eldest of the children.  She is now looked on as the person who must now keep the family's values intact.  She and Elizabeth were very close and shared many moments together as a mother does who passes the torch on to her posterity.  The one thing that is clear about Elizabeth Edwards is her devotion to her children and how she taught them the importance of family despite the fallout.

Cate Edwards shared this with People on what she learned from her mom:

"There are the things she taught without words," Cate writes about her mother in a bonus essay for PEOPLE. Like, "how to continue to live your life on your own terms when it somehow becomes savaged by people you never invited into it."

In all probability, she will touch on the private moments she and her mother shared and the wisdom imparted on her by Elizabeth Edwards before she died.

Elizabeth Edwards' funeral begins at 1p.m. Dec. 11, 2010 and will be aired on local television stations.

Natalie Portman: New Face of Dior is 'Black Swan' Star

The star of "Black Swan," a critically-acclaimed new movie opening this weekend is Natalie Portman.  She is also the brand new face of Dior, and will be participating in campaigns for its iconic fragrance Miss Dior Cherie.

Add another impressive credential to Natalie's celebrity resume.  The 29-year-old Portman is not only a graduate of Harvard, but also the face behind Queen Amidalia of "Star Wars" fame, and now the face behind a Dior fragrance.  According to Vogue.com of the UK, the stunning Natalie Portman just recently debuted as the new face of Miss Dior Cherie on Wednesday, December 8th, at a media event.  She'll be appearing in a photo print campaign done by photographer Tim Walker as well as a Sophia Coppola directed TV ad which will debut in March 2011.

Originally it had been unknown if Portman would be attached to campaigns for a new fragrance or one of Dior's classics in its perfume line.  Now it appears she represents one of its all time greats.  A fitting choice too, as Portman is one of Hollywood's finest, not only in terms of beauty but also her talents.  Portman has apparently put in a highly-praised performance in the new film "Black Swan," which also stars actress Mila Kunis.

When asked about her own beauty regimine or routine, Portman noted to the press "I'm pretty casual in my beauty routine in my real life," she said, "Some might say sloppy."  Probably not the best answer, but in terms of representing the Dior name, but Natalie Portman certainly cleans up good and looks beautiful with makeup!

Sylvie Cachay Found Dead: Wounds on Neck, Bite Mark on Hand, Overflowing Tub

Sylvie Cachay was found dead in an overflowing bathtub at the Soho House hotel in Manhattan on Dec. 9th. Sylvie’s body was submerged and had wounds to her neck, bleeding eyes and a bite mark on her hand. Cachay’s boyfriend, Nicholas Brooks, is being interviewed by police officers.

An investigation has been launched but police haven’t stated whether or not they have a suspect yet. They are also in the process of having a more thorough autopsy done because the first one couldn’t determine a cause of death. There’s a huge likelihood she was murdered because of her wounds.

Hopefully, authorities will be able to find out what happened soon. They will most likely go over security cameras to see who was present in the hotel room at the time Sylvie Cachay died. It's really sad this occurred during the holiday season and so close to Christmas. Her family is surely devastated.

Sylvie Cachay, 33, was fast becoming a staple in the fashion world. She had ties to several high end fashion designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Marc Jacobs. She was also a designer for Victoria’s Secret for awhile before branching off to create her own swimsuit line, Syla.

Reports are coming out that Sylvie Cachay was staying at Soho House with her boyfriend. Nicholas Brooks’ father, Oscar-winning songwriter Joseph Brooks has been indicted on rape charges of eleven young actresses.

Unfortunately for Nicholas, the crimes of his father also shed a bad light on him. It’s really unfortunate a woman as young, beautiful and successful as Sylvie was murdered. She had her whole future ahead of her. Cachay had already established herself as a talent. Her death has definitely shocked the fashion industry.

Bea Arthur's Marine Past is True! Iconic 'Golden Girl' Was Also a Marine!

Bea Arthur a Marine? Believe it! Though there has been much speculation about the late "Golden Girl's" Marine past, it seems as though it is an actual fact. Bea Arthur vehemently denied being a marine and there was no actual proof of her Marine association until a new photo surfaced showing Bea as a trucker for the Marines during World War II.

The Smoking Gun web site is brandishing a photo of Bea Arthur, who went by her real name of Bernice Frankel, during her time in the Marines. She was reportedly with them for thirty months and drove truck during 1943. Bea was serving with the Women's Reserve at that time.

An unnamed source told the Smoking Gun that Bea, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 86, joined the armed forces in 1943. 

“In a February 1943 letter included in her Marine personnel file, Arthur gave military officials a brief account of her prior employment as a food analyst at a Maryland packing plant, a hospital lab technician, and an office worker at a New York loan company,” the source was quoted as saying. 

“She was slated to start a new job, but heard last week that enlistments for women in the Marines were open, so decided the only thing to do was join.”

Can you picture Bea Arthur from the Golden Girl's as a Marine? She did have a bit of an authoritative way about her while on the popular sitcom, but who would have guessed she had a military past? And furthermore, why would she have wanted to keep it a secret? She should be proud that she was out there fighting for her country when they needed her, not ashamed!

Amelia Earhart and Bone Found - Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan Mystery Solved?

A recent discovery of what could be an Amelia Earhart finger bone fragment has many wondering if the long unsolved mystery of the navigator's fate has finally been unraveled.  The tiny bone fragment was just recently discovered on a remote tropical island.

Amelia Earhart disappeared over 70 years ago while flying here twin-engine Lockheed named "Electra" above the Pacific Ocean.  At the time she was attempting to set a record by flying around the world at the equator.  Now just recently a tiny bone fragment was found on Nikumaroro which is an uninhabited tropical island in the southwest Pacific area.

So will this bone fragment help solve the Amelia Earhart mystery?  Not so fast.  According to Discovery News, the phalanx bone fragment may be from a human, but it may also belong to a turtle.  DNA tests will need to be conducted to determine exactly who or what the bone is from.

The people from TIGHAR, The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery, are holding to the original hypothesis over Earhart's fate.  It's believed she and navigator Fred Noonan were castaways on the island, eventually perishing there.  Ric Gillespie, the executive director of TIGHAR says, "After 22 years of rigorous research and 10 grueling expeditions, we can say that all of the evidence we have found on Nikumaroro is consistent with the hypothesis that Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan landed and eventually died there as castaways."

So it's now up to the Molecular Science Laboratories located at Oklahoma University in Norma, Oklahoma.  They'll run the deciding tests there to determine if this bone was from a turtle or Amelia Earhart, and possibly add more evidence to the conclusion that Earhart suffered an unfortunate fate on the island.  Let's hope that this mystery can be put to rest and the history books can finally be conclusively written on the Amelia Earhart mystery.

Antique jewellery is typically very valuable, and purchasing such jewellery costs a little money. But again, it is possible to buy antique jewellery wholesale as well if you know where to look. Most people think that online auctions like eBay is the way forward. If this is true from time to time, you will usually find that the seller knows the value of what they sell and the price is quite high. There are other ways to find antique jewellery at wholesale prices or below wholesale. Keep an eye on your newspaper advertising the sale of goods and garage sales. In general, the sales people holding the sale really do not know the value of what they have. You can literally purchase hundreds or thousands of dollars in antique jewellery for a few dollars for a typical Saturday morning.

It is important that you are not very closely jewellery when you are buying. If the part is valuable, they do not want the seller to know how valuable it is! It is not your fault you do not understand assessed as soon as you go! Keep a straight face, keep your happiness and joy yourself, and pay fifty cents or two dollars who want to work, get into your car and head to a trusted jeweller for an appraisal!

It is possible that the piece is worth nothing but occasionally you will run into some real find! Even if the piece is worth nothing, if you making jewellery, you may be able to remove the parties.

Finding antique jewellery wholesale is very exciting. In fact, spending Saturday mornings in yard sales and asset sales, may even be addictive! Yard sales and sales of goods, especially sale of goods, where the grandchildren are not interested old ugly jewellery are the best grandmother sources of antique jewellery at wholesale prices or below wholesale prices.

This doesn't mean that there aren't some real find  on eBay as well, so don't discount it. Keep an eye  on the jewelry categories, as well as the antique or vintage categories. When you do find something  you want to bid on, make sure that the seller has a  good reputation. If the piece is very expensive, use  the escrow service that is recommended by eBay.  Also talk to the seller quite a bit to be sure that you  understand exactly what is being advertised!

Dr. William Petit talks with Oprah

Dr. William Petit sat down with Oprah Winfrey for one of the most moving, emotional interviews we've seen in a long time.

For those of you who don't know who William Petit is, he is the man that survived a brutal attack during a home invasion that left his wife and two daughters dead. Two men broke into the Petit's Connecticut home, tied up and sexually assaulted the women that Petit called his family. They then dumped gasoline all over the girls' bodies and around the house, and lit it on fire before stealing the Petit's car and crashing in to a police barricade near the burning home. Bill Petit was able to get himself out of the bulkhead door and away from the house before he watched everything he ever loved burn to the ground.

Oprah's interview with Bill Petit was extremely emotional. It was so hard to watch a man talk about his murdered family and to be so candid about the events that changed his life forever. Even though Jennifer, Hayley and Michaela have been gone since 2007, the pain is still very real for Bill, who said he hasn't decorated a Christmas tree since their passing.

One of the men convicted of this gruesome crime was recently sentenced to death, and people had so many mixed opinions. After watching Dr. William Petit on Oprah today, it may have changed some people's minds.

Bill Petit looks like the nicest guy, the kindest person. He didn't deserve this, yet it happened to him. It's heartbreaking and there are no words to describe his constant suffering.

Christmas Trees

Christmas trees are one of the most common symbols of the holiday season. Traditionally a family would go cut down their own and decorate it on Christmas Eve. For some families this is still a tradition that they carry out. Others that want a real tree just buy one from a lot. They seem to crop up everywhere in the weeks before Christmas. Live Christmas trees are evergreens and they smell wonderful. They do take up plenty of time to care for though as they can dry out. This is why many people opt for a fake Christmas tree.

Artificial Christmas trees are a good investment because they will last you for years. They come in many sizes so you can get the one that fits your home. Some sit on a counter top while others are six or more feet high. Most artificial Christmas trees have branches on them that you have to put into holders. They are color coded though so even small children can help to bring the tree to life. Some of them are the traditional green in color while others have white on the green to look snow covered. Decorating the Christmas tree is very fun activity and a great way to personalize yours. You can put up the decorations that your children have made over the years or buy various ornaments. Some people like plenty of lights, garland, and tinsel. Others enjoy a simple look with a beautiful angel or star on the top of it. There are some Christmas trees that have fiber optics in them so you can forgo the lights. This is a great way to get wonderful color changes on your Christmas tree. You also don't have to deal with strands of burnt out lights due to one bulb being bad.

There are many choices when it comes to Christmas trees. You may be ready for something new this year. You are definitely not limited to what you have used in the past. A great time to buy Christmas ornaments and even artificial trees is right after the holiday has ended. Most stores will offer them at a discounted price to clear them out.

Snooki, New Year’s Eve, Ball Drop, Jersey Shore Cast and Fist Pumping

Snooki has some interesting New Year’s Eve plans. MTV is reportedly planning on dropping Snooki in a ball during New Year’s Eve’s countdown in Times Square. The ball drop will be part of "MTV New Year's Bash" which will have the cast of “Jersey Shore” trying to break the Guinness World Record’s fist pumping record. It definitely seems like MTV is going all out this year for its many, many, many reality TV stars.

Anyone in Times Square on New Year’s Eve will be in for quite a treat when they see their favorite oompa loompa exiting the ball. The fist pumping and boozing will begin and people will party 'til the sun rises.

Hmmm, this makes one wonder if the entire cast of “Jersey Shore” will be present, as in will Angelina be there? Was she even invited? She did get into that mega fight with Snooki. We’ll just have to wait and see.

New Year’s Eve is a time to party and provides a clean slate for the upcoming year. Snooki has made a lot of mistakes this year. Let’s hope she will do better during the upcoming one. Will you be there and will you be one of the fist pumpers?

Nicole Richie’s Dad Not Attending Wedding: Lionel Richie Present But Not Biological Dad

Nicole Richie’s biological dad will not be attending her wedding. Nicole Richie was adopted by Lionel Richie when she was nine, but she was the biological child of musician Peter Michael Escovedo. Her upcoming wedding to rocker Joel Madden has been much publicized and now it is only a few days away.

Nicole Richie’s wedding will be on Saturday, but it is supposedly so private that her biological dad was not invited and will not be attending.

Talk about a major ouch factor! The true fact is that their relationship may have been a fractured one for a very long time. This late into life makes mending broken relationships even harder to do.

Guess what else? Nicole Richie’s former best friend forever aka BFF, Paris Hilton, will also not be attending her wedding. Yup, this wedding is so exclusive that not even the ultra rich are invited. Nicole Richie currently has two kids with Joel Maden: Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 1.

Whatever, seriously… with the reputation Nicole has. Let’s just hope that this will be her only marriage. She exemplified her personality on The Simple Life and the fact is, she needs to stay in happy Hollyweird because reality is just not the place for her. Seriously, she’s almost 30 and wouldn’t even try to make peace with her biological father in time for her wedding. Yeah...

Kelly Ripa On Crutches: Talk Show Host Talks On Air About Stress Fracture

Kelly Ripa is an injured woman currently. The talk show walked out onto the set of the talk show she hosts with Regis Philbin, Live with Regis & Kelly, on crutches earlier this week. Apparently, the woman discovered she had a stress fracture on her hip after she visited Philbin's doctor. Before that visit, she just knew she had some pain in that area.

Kelly Ripa explained the injury as the following: "So that means no exercise for three to six weeks. Right away I was like, 'What?! There must be a mistake!' It'll heal by itself. I don't need any surgery, thank God. I don't need to have anything special done. I just have to sit down. Suddenly, I noticed I had 'time' … It's nice to just sort of have nothing to do except watch my stories."

Sitting down does seem to be a part of her problem. Even on the talk show, she doesn't know how to sit perfectly still much. She is hyper and animated, and that is truly a part of her charm. Her bubbly personality is what have people tune in to watch. She has made fans because she is so cheerful. Not much seems to get to her.

She is also very active. She has talked about her work out regimen before on the talk show, and she is an avid runner. Not being able to work out at all and being forced to rest will be a challenge for her, but she is being forced to take it easy. It won't stop her from her duties with the talk show though. It would take her being bed ridden to do that. Best of luck to her on a quick recovery!

Jenn Sterger, former Playboy model and NY Jets reporter has a change of heart.  In a sudden change of pace, Jenn Sterger wants one of two things from the NFL commissioners:  suspend Brett Farve or face a legal battle in court.  The former Playboy model says things are not moving as planned, and she wants to clear her name.

She is known for two former things in her life: being a Playboy model and reporter for the New York Jets.  Here, we'll talk about the latter because it has the web buzzing again over an ongoing scandal involving photos of body parts and what amounts to sexual harassment.

According to Jenn Sterger, the former Playboy model says that when she was a reporter for the New York Jets a couple seasons ago when Brett Farve was the quarterback, she ran into a quagmire.  She claims that Brett Farve made several "un-wanted passes at her and left many voice mails and text messages trying to further their relationship.  Remember Brett Farve is a married man.  Then, things heated up and Farve allegedly sent her a series of photos containing his body parts (the so-called sexting pics).  Mum was the word for two years until she thought it was time to let the cat out the bag.

Initially, Sterger stated she wanted the matter put to rest, did not want any legal action or money.  In essence, she wanted to move on.  Of course, Farve denied the photos, but admitted to the telephone calls.

The NFL became involved, but the matter lost steam, and things went underground for months.  Now, Jenn Sterger is claiming things are not moving fast enough, and she wants justice if Roger Goddell continues to remain in his foxhole on this matter.  She is now saying she will file a lawsuit if the matter idles any longer, but she will not if Brett Farve is suspended.  Roger Goddell and the NFL have not commented as of late, except to say they are still reviewing the matter.

Okay, enough is enough!  Big Ben's case was handled in only one measly month, but Brett Farve must have called in some air support or old favors, as this matter with Jenn Sterger has gone too long. Does a former Playboy model not have rights? C'mon Goddell, get with it, bro!

Santa’s Naughty Joke Gets Him Fired From Macy's

A naughty joke played by one Macy's Santa has cost him his job. The naughty joke or jokes were played by Santa aka John Toomey who has since left Macy’s for Lefty O'Doul's. But what exactly did good ol’ Saint Nick do?

Well, John Toomey was fired from San Francisco’s Macy's department store and his name was placed on the store’s naughty list because Santa liked to joke around when he had adults sitting on his lap.

According to Toomey, he had a series of special responses just for adults who sat on his lap. If a person responded that they were good for the year, Santa would say, “That’s too bad.” If people asked him why he was so happy, John would say it was because he knew where the naughty boys and girls lived.

Santa’s Naughty Jokes to Racy for Macy's?

So who was wrong? Did Santa's version of a joke cross Macy's line? Keep in mind, these naughty replies were the same replies John Toomey had been giving customers for the past 20 years he was employed at the department store. All the trouble started when an adult couple reported him for his racy comments. Macy’s sided with the couple and let Santa go.

Speaking about the incident, John Toomey said, "Everything was going OK until this couple came in. I don't know why they reported me. I don't think I said anything untoward."

Well, it’s not too hard to see how some people could be offended but most adults might have just gotten a chuckle. Toomey said he never gave such replies to children but some adults don’t really have a sense of humor or they are just too straight laced. It’s okay to breath every now and then, it really is.

Santa’s New Gig at Lefty O'Doul's

Following his termination, John Toomey left Macy's and took his naughty jokes to Lefty O'Doul's where he will be playing Santa again. Toomey’s new contract allows him to tell jokes. Lefty O'Doul's, which is located at 333 Geary St., is right down the street from Macy’s. The position begins on Saturday, Dec. 11. and will continue through until Christmas Eve.

Lefty O'Doul's restaurant has constructed a North Pole Winter Wonderland stage where John Toomey will be Santa from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. each day until Dec. 24. Toomey’s new paychecks are expected to be more than his Macy's paychecks were. Lefty O'Doul's is attempting to collect 10,000 toys foe the Firefighters Toy Program’s 10th anniversary.

In the end it appears this Santa was more man than myth. Prehaps the real Saint Nick would’ve been completely G-rated but John Toomey had a funny if not naughty sense of humor that most would have laughed at. Macy's didn’t but Macy’s is a corporation which strives to be family friendly and G-rated. There’s no real surprise they sided with their customers.

In the end, who’s to blame? Was John Toomey’s Santa just too naughty and not nice enough for Macy’s or was that couple just too uptight? You decide.
