James Bond 23: 2012 Date Set For The Return Of Daniel Craig And 007

James Bond fans have some news to celebrate today! The franchise will return to the big screen with James Bond 23 set for November 2012. Yes, this means Daniel Craig will return to the role he revitalized in the last two films. The future of the franchise had been up in the air since the 2008 release of "Quantum of Solace" by MGM. The film studio has had financial difficulties, and it was four billion dollars in debut.

Just this week, Lionsgate and Carl Icahn tried to take over MGM, but the film studio instead filed for bankruptcy and it is now undergoing restructuring. MTV reports that part of that restructuring includes working on "The Hobbit" and releasing new James Bond films. Yes, that said films! This new release in 2012 isn't the only Bond film planned. MGM plans to release a new Bond film every two years.

That should make fans of the franchise very happy. Bond has changed a great deal over the years, but some believe that Daniel Craig gave the franchise a much needed jump start. With the financial woes of MGM now in the clear, the company can bring Craig back. How many of the future Bond films will Craig be in? No word on that, but he will appear in the 2012 release. That film doesn't have a title yet!

Details are still up in the air for the flick, but the good news is James Bond is coming back! Will you be heading to theaters for this one?
