Japan Robot Actress Makes Stage Debut in Sayonara at Tokyo Arts Festival (video)

The Japan robot actress made her first appearance on the stage. The play is called Sayonara, and Germinoid F debuted on Wednesday ahead of the two-day performances at the Tokyo arts festival.

Does this mean that human actors and actresses have to worry about their jobs now? The robot had no trouble remembering her lines. The robot actress played the part of an android caretaker who was caring for a terminally ill woman. During the 20 minute play the robot read poetry to the women who was dying. During the entire play, Germinoid F remained seated.

What Does the Japan Robot Actress Look Like?

The robot actress from Japan looks one quarter Russian sporting dark hair and brown eyes. She was actually controlled by a human who was sitting behind the scenes during the plays, so this robot didn’t actually replace a human being – it simply offered a new role and new type of acting.

The director of the play Oriza Hirata has hard two plays featuring robots. He says that the human looking robot has been great for boosting ticket sales. Sayonara is the first time the director has used a human looking android.

What do you think of the robot actress from Japan? Do you enjoy her acting in the play Sayonara? Would you be interested in seeing more robot actors and actresses on both the small screen and big screen? You can see an example of Germinoid F in action below.
