Patty Bigbee Tries to Sell Grandson For Daughter to Get New Car - Update (Video)

Patty Bigbee made national headlines last week when she tried to sell her grandson for $75,000, but settled on $30,000.  The bizarre story initially involved Patty Bigbee trying to sell her grandson while the daughter was in prison, not aware of what was transpiring with her child.  However, new evidence has surfaced that reveals the daughter was involved and was expecting her share from the sale to buy a new car.

New evidence shows that Patty Bigbee, 45, and her boyfriend Lawrence Works, 42, both of Holly Hill, Florida, tried to broker a deal on Facebook to Bigbee's relative about the sale of her grandson.  The unnamed relative said that Bigbee said that she wanted to sell her grandson, who she was tending to while her daughter was in jail, because she was "not mother material".

The relative notified police who set up a sting to determine if Patty Bigbee was trying to sell her grandson for $75,000.  The operation was set up in a parking lot in Daytona. Patty Bigbee and Lawrence Works were promptly arrested when the money was exchanged, and the baby was handed over to an undercover officer.

Here's where the story gets more bizarre and sickening.  New evidence in this closely watched story shows that the daughter, initially thought to be oblivious about the sale of her baby, may have known the entire time.

Sources say that Patty Bigbee's daughter, Stephanie Bigbee Fleming, 22, knew all about the brokered deal, approved of it, and was expecting money from the sale. The supplemental report shows that Stephanie Bigbee Fleming took part in the elaborate scheme in order to receive $9,000 to purchase a brand new car and to pay for outstanding courts costs from a probation violation.

Armed with this new evidence, police arrested the daughter.  Now, all three are charged with illegal sale of a child.

It's one thing when a grandma like Patty Bigbee tries to sell her grandson, but when the child's biological mother is an integral part of the deal for profit, it makes it more egregious.  In the end, the value of a child's life was reduced to material things.
