A teen beaten to death at a house party in Georgia has been laid to rest. The teen, Bobby Tillman, had a funeral attended by hundreds of mourners. “Investigators say the fight started when a woman hit a man during the house party.
The man said he would not hit the woman back but vowed to hit the next man who walked by.”
Unfortunately, Bobby Tillman was the next man to walk by. Four men have been charged with his murder. Bobby, 18, did not know any of his attackers. It was truly a freak crime. Tillman’s passion for basketball helped to fuel his dreams of becoming a sports agent. Sadly, those dreams will never be realized.
Bobby Tillman was beaten to death while attending a house party on November 7. The house party occurred in Douglasville, Georgia.
At the time of his death, Bobby was a student at Georgia Perimeter College. Tillman’s funeral took place on November 13. His family members took that opportunity to speak out about violence and to ask the community to come together.
It is truly terrible when something like this happens. This teen was beaten to death for no apparent reason while he was minding his own business at a house party. Bobby Tillman’s funeral was attended by hundreds because violence such as this has no place in our world. The gang mentality of young adults and teens is indescribably terrifying. To do harm unto someone who has never crossed your path just because you are anger is inhumane!
Bobby Tillman had high hopes and wonderful dreams of becoming more than what he was. His passion for basketball was a leading factor in who he was and what he wanted to become but now there’s nothing left and that is the most tragic thing of all. Who knows if his attackers had any hopes or dreams outside of being bullies and hotshots? It’s just extremely sad when someone with such potential dies so tragically at such a young age. There’s no rhythm or rhyme to the way things work in life. We live, we die.
