Woman Found in Freezer was Hospitalized but Back Safe at Nursing Home – Mollye Fischer’s Freezing Ordeal

A woman was found in the walk-in freezer of her California nursing home on October 28. The woman, 94, was discovered missing and an organized search found her standing in the freezer. Mini-Room Walk-In Cold Rooms and Freezers, Without Shelving,
Nor-Lake Scientific - Model MRF7768-CRShe was hospitalized but is now safe and back at the nursing home. The question remains how safe is she? Was it not the nursing home which initially lost her to begin with?

The woman found in the freezer was identified as Mollye Fischer. It is not known how long she was trapped inside the freezer or how she even became trapped. The nursing home in question is the Silverado Senior Living Center in Calabasas where cost of residency could be as much as $70,000 a year. The majority of residents “suffer from dementia.”

The nursing home is remaining very tight-lipped about the woman’s condition after she was rescued from the freezer or about how she is doing now. A spokesman, Mark Mostow, for the nursing home said, "We immediately conducted an investigation, and took appropriate corrective action against two employees. It's an unfortunate incident, and we're very sorry that it happened, and we'll do everything in our power to ensure this does not happen again.

This is just truly terrible! Imagine paying upwards of $70,000 for someone to tend to your aging parent only to find out she was found freezing inside of a freezer! Where the heck was the staff that was supposed to be supervising her? Considering the fact that the nursing home has only 60 residents, surely Silverado can afford enough staff to monitor and assist all their seniors! Geeze! What do you think about this woman being found freezing in the walk-in freezer?
