In an update in the case of missing Oregon boy Kyron Horman, dive teams once again searched the waters off Sauvie Island this past weekend in hopes of finding evidence in this case that is now more than five months old.
According to ABCNews, there are no new leads in the Kyron Horman case, but many paid divers as we
ll as some volunteers, searched the waters off Sauvie Island, which is about a 25 minute drive from where Kyron Horman's family lives. Investigators felt that sending in dive teams again at this time was well worth the effort, noting weather changes that may have stirred up evidence that could be lying on the water's floor.
Retired Multnomah County Sheriff's Captain Bruce McCain explained the reason behind the search by divers.
"When you have water levels that are changing, there's some idea if Kyron or some other evidence has been lurking on the bottom of that muddy flat all summer, it might actually get dislodged," McCain explained.
In the meantime, the focus of this case lies on Kyron Horman's stepmother Terri Horman. Horman was the last person to see Kyron alive, and many, including Kyron's parents Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, believe she is responsible for Kyron's disappearance.
Kyron Horman was just 7 years old when he disappeared from Skyline Elementary School on June 4. The last known siting of Kyron was at a science fair at the school early that morning. Terri Horman reported him missing when he didn't arrive home from school that afternoon and a trip to the school proved he never made it to his classroom that morning.
It wasn't long after Kyron's disappearance that Terri Horman became a person of interest in this case, although she has never been named one officially.
Kaine Horman and Desiree Young recently told the media that they firmly believe Terri Horman is responsible for whatever happened to their son. Desiree Young believes Terri Horman is angry about something, and has Kyron stashed somewhere, causing his family intentional suffering. While Kaine Horman appears to be trying hard to uphold Desiree Young's belief that Kyron is still alive, it is starting to appear as though he may be losing hope.
It seems that most people reluctantly believe Kyron Horman is dead, and if dive teams off Sauvie Island are indication of what investigators believe, it certainly doesn't sound as though they are expecting a positive outcome either.
The public can certainly play an integral role in the Kyron Horman investigation by reporting any clues, no matter how benign they may seem, to the investigators. Contact information appears on the poster included in this article. Imagine if Kyron were your little boy, nephew, grandson or son of a dear friend. If you think you have even an inkling of a clue, you are urged to contact authorities right away.
Meanwhile Terri Horman has neither admitted to or denied any involvement in Kyron's disappearance, and many believe her silence to be an indication of both stubbornness and guilt. Evidence did surface that indicated she attempted to hire someone to murder her husband Kaine Horman, prior to the time Kyron Horman went missing. If she was capable of that, is there anything she wouldn't stoop to?
