A plainclothes Seattle officer is shown kicking teen on a video. The arrest happened at a convenience store on October 18, and the store’s video shows the officer kicking the 17-year-old boy in the groin. This has prompted an investigation. Also, the officer has been reassigned.

The officer is assigned to his home, and he has been on the force for 10 years. So far his name has not been released. KIRO-TV alerted police to the existence of the video on Wednesday, and later that night they aired the video on which the Seattle officer is shown kicking a teen along with KOMO-TV. During the incident, five people were arrested for robbery and assault.The undercover officer was trying to bust a narcotics seller when he was attacked in a parking lot. Two of the officers were actually injured seriously in the attack, and they had to go to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Seattle PD Has String of Inappropriate Incidents - What is Going On?
This is just the most recent in a string of incidents with the Seattle Police Department. There have been several fatal shootings in the past year or so. Also, there was a video that showed Seattle officers kicking and stomping a man using racial slurs (this was actually the wrong man too). Then an officer punched a 17-year old girl after she pushed him – she did apologize later, but it was still a PR disaster. Because of this, the department has been reworked, and the command has been changed.
What is going on with the Seattle PD? It seems like the officers are really being excessively forceful when they are arresting suspects. It is a bit scary. This video that shows the Seattle officer kicking a teen is just the latest in what is starting to look like a pattern. Hopefully they will get this under control because if they don’t, something major is probably going to happen.
