Originally called Decoration Day, the holiday was established to honor soldiers from the Civil War who died while in service. After World War I it was extended to include Americans who have died in all wars. Since Memorial Day was established as a day of remembrance, I thought it’d be nice to take a moment to recognize all the men and women who have served their country in uniform.
